Here is a non messy dish that you can make in no more than an hour. These crispy chicken wings and orange bourbon glaze was EVERYTHING! What I really loved about this dish, was that there wasn’t any frying involved. You know the kitchen can get really messy and who wants to play around with oil splattering on them? Not I! So I played around with this method and it worked! I cooked these wings in the oven and I still achieved a crispy skin on the wings. It is so bomb guys! Like can you really go wrong with chicken wings and liquor?! You can’t, you really can’t.
Soo, let’s get into making this dish!
Wash and pat your wings dry with paper towels. You want to get as much moisture out as you can.
Season your wings with salt and pepper or your desired seasonings, and add baking powder. (not baking soda) – baking powder helps release moisture and dries out the chicken skin, leaving it nice and crispy
Line your baking sheet with parchment or foil and oil your wire rack to prevent wings from sticking. Place wings on rack with space in between.
Cook wings in the oven for 25 minutes at 300 degrees.
While wings are cooking, add sauce ingredients to saucepan and reduce until thickened.
After the 25 minutes, brush wings with melted butter, place back in the oven on 500 degrees for 20 minutes or until your desired crispness.
After 20 minutes, transfer wings to mixing bowl and coat with the sauce, return the wings in the oven to broil for 5 minutes or until charred on top.
